Gaussian Splats Lab
A lab experiment for turning uploaded images into layered Gaussian splat fields with timing and sampling controls.
Concept
This experiment takes a single source image and reconstructs it as a timed field of soft Gaussian splats. The point is not to mimic a production 3D pipeline yet. It is a way to study how pass cadence, sample count, thresholding, and jitter change the feel of the output.
Current focus
- Upload, drag-and-drop, and paste intake
- Incremental pass playback instead of instant rendering
- Parameter controls for sampling and splat shape
Open questions
How far can the renderer push the illusion of structure before it needs a real depth model?
